As you’ll see by some of the references below, I sat on this one for a few weeks, and hadn’t even read it till this morning.  Then I realized, that by not having the stones to publish it, I wasn’t following my own advice.  My wife, although loving it, and having a big laugh, predicted at least 10 unsubscribes would be the result.  I figure that anyone who hates this little piece, would never have what it takes to move their assets offshore anyway, so good riddance.  So here you have it.  Right in your face…..

I truly consider myself to be a blessed man.  That, even while traveling through South America on a 12 year old Suzuki, with all of what remains of my earthly possessions in boxes hanging off the back of same.  And that coming after a largely misspent youth gaining a Masters degree in accounting, and working in some iconic Ameriken corporations.  That would afford me to live under the 80’s banner—those who die with the most toys wins.  This being my favorite toy about 20 years ago, when such things still seemed important, like the Florida beach house in the background.

Luckily, I had the courage to trade both for personal freedom, without which, neither mattered.  I have a better wife now, too….

Here, at the moment in Uruguay, I’m truly living that proverbial, American dream—that being one of real freedom, which has lately eluded the vast majority of the current brainwashed sheeple.  In the background, as I write, I’m listening to the Colts-Bengals game.  It’s easy to write, as I couldn’t care less who wins this particular game.  A frustrated bills fan since I was old enough to say—“get me 20 wings, cutie”, I’m afraid.  That being about age 6 in 1969.

I’m further blessed as I have the luxury of spouting my random thoughts.  Not on any schedule, but rather as I feel inspired to do so.  I travel around as I desire, and work from wherever I choose, and somehow manage to pay the bills, while helping like-minded freedom-lovers achieve internationalization.  What a life.  My current friends are also my clients, and I feel like the luckiest man alive.

I’ve been accused, because I often cite my famous, and rich ancestors/cousins, of being an elite.  I wish that were true, trust me.  Ruefully it is not.  A couple of illegitimate sons in my particular line of the infamously meandering Seymour family I have to thank for the lack of inherited riches.  Old money is all about the order of birth, it seems, as well as being born to wives usually, but not always….Sir John, apparently in his last year, having a go with his oldest son’s 1st wife while the boy was off in France taking care of the King’s business, as Jane was about to bed Henry.  Therefore the resulting little political liability, named John of course, got shipped off to Sawbridgeworth to be raised in a convent.  The unfortunate mother, Katherine Fillol, apparently died as a divorced prisoner in a convent the same year.  That’s another book, though…There was another rich ancestor in New York, who shared a special moment after the revolution with a daughter of another well-off guy from New Haven as well.  So a couple of bastards in the line, as it turns out.  Explains a lot don’t it?

I got inspired to write this piece, not only by the Sunday afternoon 6-pack, but also while watching an NFL playoff game, and seeing what? No less than a McDonnell Douglas commercial with something to the effect that this MIC icon is looking out for my best interest.  Shit, are you kidding me? Now they’re crawling out from behind the woodwork, and putting it right in your face?  That just pisses me off. I’d be a liar if I said I didn’t have a bit of a hot temper.  I come by it naturally, as I’ve also got from my Mom, some Greene blood, which may be even hotter-tempered than the Seymour line.  Both families were in the gentry of England (the Seymours still are dukes and marquis) before those less fortunate in the order of birth sailed across the ocean to a very unpredictable set of circumstances in the 1630’s.  Some quotes from one of my blood line, Nathanael Greene

apend xvll-1

Not as good looking as me, but maybe even more passionate—

  • “I am determined to defend my rights and maintain my freedom or sell my life in the attempt.”
  • “It had been happy for me if I could have lived a private life in peace and plenty, enjoying all the happiness that results from a well-tempered society founded on mutual esteem. But the injury done my country, and the chains of slavery forging for all posterity, calls me forth to defend our common rights, and repel the bold invaders of the sons of freedom.” Nathanael Greene to his wife, Catharine Littlefield Greene.
  • “We fight, get beaten, rise, and fight again.”
  • “Learning is not virtue but the means to bring us an acquaintance with it. Integrity without knowledge is weak and useless, and knowledge without integrity is dangerous and dreadful. Let these be your motives to action through life, the relief of the distressed, the detection of frauds, the defeat of oppression, and diffusion of happiness.”
  • “We are soldiers who devote ourselves to arms not for the invasion of other countries, but for the defense of our own, not for the gratification of our private interests but for public security”
  • “I hope this is the dark part of the night which is generally just before day.”
  • “I wish we could sell them another hill at the same price we did Bunker Hill.”

I was just going to choose my 2 favorites, but liked them all, so there you have it.  With both this guy, and the Seymours in my blood, I have no apologies.   I just can’t help it.  The current privilege to vent my rage is quite cathartic after being basically exiled from the country that 12 generations before me created and maintained, with very courageous sacrifices, up until people like us became the minority.

Since my life as an 80’s & 90’s yuppie didn’t pan out quite as I had hoped for, I became predictably frustrated.  Maybe many of you are as well?  Just as I was inspired by others, during my transition from Reagan republican to freedom-loving international citizen, I hope that I too, can maybe also reach 1 or 2 of the disenfranchised out there today.

That’s my current luxury.  Free from the consumerist brainwashing, and able to share my hopefully inspirational, rabble-rousing missives.  I truly believe that my own personal sacrifices haven’t been completely in vain.  I really believe that I’ve learned a thing or 2 about how to live a much fuller, and more fruitful life.  One that isn’t misguided by the garbage currently being sold as the “Ameriken dream” on Madison Avenue, aka Operation Mockingbird.

When I saw the McDonnell Douglas ad during the NFL playoff game, the hair on the back of my neck stood right up.  Straight.  And there’s unfortunately, nowadays, a fair amount of it….It made me wonder—“Where the hell have the balls of American men gone?”  Like those of Nathanael, for example. (BTW-based on something a reader sent me, Betty White once said, paraphrased-“Why do people compare balls with being tough? Those things are fragile. They should ask where’s your vagina?  Those things can take a real pounding”).  Gotta love that lady.

Home of the brave?  Give me a freakin’ break.  It’s the land of the one-balled sissies.  That also being displayed to me while watching the NFL games, during the commercial breaks.  Yeah, I’m in macho Latin America.  Wooo-hoooo, for that.  Still got a pair too, thankfully.  Barely got ‘em out from behind the curtain, though.  I know I’m preaching to the choir here.  Haven’t you guys, and even more so, girls, often hoped that the current Ameriken “men” would lift up their skirts, and do a ball check?  I mean, really.  How did this mass emasculation occur?  I think I feel the most sorry for the women, to be honest.

Really, only a completely gutless society would allow themselves to be relegated to such slavery without even the thought of a fight.  Or maybe a feminist one?  That’s maybe the true Ameriken experiment.  Put women in charge, and emasculate the masses of the male middle class?  I don’t know.  I’m just observing, and wondering.

Just one more reason to internationalize yourself.  Especially for the women….

I know that my readership is of the full pair, and full pair-appreciating variety.  If you’d like to stay that way, either grab a rifle, and get to work, or liquidate “your” possessions, and bail to a country where the men are still men, and the women are still glad about it.
